  The City of Eloy is celebrating its 61st anniversary of incorporation in 2010. The city offers a varied range of community facilities for its citizens. The city limits currently encompasses approximately 110 square miles with a planning area of almost 560 square miles.

This area is about to explode with growth. Over 175,000 homes are scheduled to be built in Master Planned Communities over the next decade, along with many new businesses, industries, retail facilities and offices. 
     
  Small Map of the City of Eloy, Arizona Eloy is located below the I-8, I-10 split in Pinal County and is only 50 minutes south of the Phoenix-Mesa-Scottsdale metro area. The community was named by the Southern Pacific Railroad, which built a switch here in the early 1900's. The name Eloy is derived from the European name meaning the "Chosen" or the  "Chosen One".
     
 

Four Day Work Week
Effective September 1, 2008, most employees began a four-day work week. City offices will be closed on Fridays. The new extended hours of operations are Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Housing Authority of the City of Eloy intends to contract for the management of approximately 50 public housing and scattered site units and the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program, which incorporates an additional 120 to 159 Vouchers.

The Housing Authority of the City of Eloy is seeking a price-competitive Agency with demonstrated, successful public housing property and/or housing choice voucher management experience, including all HUD and state regulations, and knowledge of the local property management business.

The management agreement being sought by The Housing Authority of the City of Eloy is for the complete management and oversight of both the Public Housing and the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Programs, including portability. The selected Agency must be prepared to assume management responsibilities on or before February 25, 2010.
